Adversity

An application form I was filling up for a college asked me some really crappy questions. One of the questions had me to write a short note on 'Adversity'. They expected some 'gyaan' from me and that is exactly what they got!

Adversity:

It is said that when man comes face to face with adversity, he comes face to face with his soul. There is no surer way of remembering who are than facing up to adversity. As the blade is tempered by fire, so is ones character tempered by adversity! It is human nature to follow the law of inertia. Whatever vision one might have of the greatest and grandest expression of oneself lies dormant under the irrepressible force of habit. It is one when one arrives at a brink of a precipice, that the fire which burns within is unleashed. It is through diving headlong and fearlessly into adversity, that one becomes aware of this great inner strength.

One should not be afraid of adversity nor should one be overwhelmed. Adversity should be used a a flint to spark the fire inside our body, mind and soul. The light which radiates through the darkness and guides us through the voyage called life. In conclusion, whenever one is faced with adversity, one is given a choice. A choice between remembrance and forgetfulness. Remember who you really are and adversity will be your ticket to paradise. Forget the fact that you are life itself and adversity will suck you in like a tar pit trap. Adversity asks, "Who are you?" The answer is your choice!
